If you have some friends who are “the sea turtles ”or you might want to understand what are “the sea turtles “thinking about after coming back to their mother land ,so you should look it up .Today we are going to talk about a couple of things you know if you are a “sea turtle”.

如果你有一些海龟朋友，或者想知道他们在回到母亲怀抱之后，脑子里想的和关心的事儿，那么你应该看看这篇文章。今天我们来简单谈论下海龟的所关心的一些琐事，当然如果你是海龟，你也会多少有些共鸣吧。

Since i have come back ,I have realized that people would like to call me a “sea turtle dude ”.What does that mean? The Chinese words “hai gui ” is used to describe those who have studied abroad and have come back to China to work .Is that label important ?maybe not .But some people believe it tells a little about “WHO I AM?”.so i got me thinking ,what are some common things to “sea turtles”.There are few.I boiled them down to 7 things I want to share with you today .

自从我回国之后，我意识到，身边的亲朋好友是不是的在我面前讲“海龟”这个词。“海龟”到底是什么意思呢？在中文中海龟就是描述一些有海外留学经历归来祖国工作的中国人。这标签重要吗？也许吧，但是有的人相信，这么样的一个词语能够让我们更好的认清自己。所以我就琢磨，到底这些海归们有什么相同之处呢，我简单总结了7点来和诸君共享。

1.Starbucks is a “luxury drink”.what the hell ?

A tall latte here costs 33 yuan which is a bout 5 dollars .if you convert the currency .But what can you get with 33 yuan in this city ?A cup of soy milk you buy from a street stand costs roughly 2 yuan .A can of redbull costs 6 yuan and 1 plate of dumplings costs 15 yuan .The money you use to buy one Starbucks coffee can get 16 soy milk ,5.5 redbull and 2 plates of dumpling .I guess most of the time the buyers are holding Starbucks ,the main reason is“they want you to see how tight they are ”

1.星巴克变成饮料界的LV 了？搞什么鬼？

一杯中杯拿铁在中国的星巴克店铺里要卖5美金，如果折合成现在的汇率就是差不多33块钱。33什么概念？在中国能买什么？一杯街边三无豆浆才2块。我最爱的红牛也就才6块。一叠饺子15块。所以你用来买星巴克的钱差不多能买16杯豆浆，5瓶半红牛，2碟大饺子。所以我猜，大多数时候，消费者拿着星巴克在街上横逛的最终目的是“你看伦家多有品位，名牌星巴克哦。”

1.You forget the skill required to cross a road.

It’s easy to find that some crossroads have no traffic lights or it is under renovation therefore people have to remove them .anyway NO traffic signs and no traffic lights ,can you believe it ?There are many hidden rules on how to cross a road in China .It’s a challenge .Because you are not only dealing with impatient drivers who might be get stuck in traffic no matter what hour of the day it is ,you are also dealing with the pedestrians who have no respect of the traffic lights .Ubiquitous tuk tuks ,those electrical bicycles running around ,most of the drivers who retired from F1 or seem that way .You’ve got to pray lot before going to work from your home .“GOD ,i don’t want to hit by a car .”well ,you do care about your own life but they do not give it a hoot ”.

2.你忘记了过马路的基本技能。什么？

路口没有交通信号灯？那太正常不过了。在这里很容易就能找到一些没有信号灯的十字路口或者是街道，也许是因为施工挪走了，或者就跟本没有，不管怎么样，没有信号灯啊，同志们，你们能相信吗?于是乎就有了好多隐藏的过马路规则。这是一种挑战，因为你不仅仅是在面对由于不一定在何时何地被堵住而失去耐心的司机，你还要面对拿交通规则当游戏的行人。随处可见的小电动车，蹦蹦哒哒的在你面前飘过。大多数司机都好像是F1赛事退役的老手。每次离家之前，你都得祷告“上帝啊，我不想被撞啊”！你可能很在意你的生命，但是有些人则不屑。

2.No one is special when you are taking the public transportation .

Announcement and notice in the public place apparently make no sense . Even though people can understand or feel the meaning however they certainly will not obey it .for instant,next time you could observe what would passengers do after hearing  “Please let the departing passengers get off the train fist...”in the subway station.I mean ,this may not apply to everyone here ,but people here just would like to be the first guy getting on the train for a seat or no reasons . nobody is special and unique there .standing in the underground and find out there maybe hundreds people in a 50 meter radius who look just like you . 

3.当你乘坐交通工具的时候，没人是特别的。

广播和通告在公共场所根本就限制不了大家。即使他们能明白，或者感觉到那是什么意思，但是他们都不会遵守的。例如你下次坐地铁的时候，在听到“请让乘客先下车”这类的广播时，你注意观察乘客们的反映。这条可能不适用于所有人，但是这里的人真的很想抢“第一名”上车，可能是为了抢座，也可能什么都不为。站在地铁站，发现方圆100米有几百个人和你一样的人，你就会深深地体会到，大家都一样，管你是海龟还是高管。

3.You are using the third language English  Chinese .

I bet this has happened to a lot of people who are “Hai gui”. Especially for the people who have an English names here “Vivian，月底有个color run ,sounds fun ,你可以参加with your friends ...” Embarrassingly saying ,that is not awesome,unfortunately some of us are quite fond of doing that .

4.你会使用混合语言，英文加中文。

我敢说很多海龟都经历过这种事情。特别是当和有英文名字的人聊天的时候，这种习惯就特别溜的暴露出来了。Vivian 月底有个彩色跑，听起来很有趣，你可以和你的朋友一起来参加哦。丢人地讲，这样真的很逊，但是大多数人都很偏爱用这种方式讲话。

4.You say thanks and Excuse me frequently .

after saying Excuse me and thank you however some people think I am trying to be cool and distant .This especially true when i am around my relatives .I get used to using Excuse me and Thanks when i am trying to inconvenience someone and when my friends pass me something ,i would like to say thank you .they would look at me just like i had two heads and ask me “why do you say that ?are we cool ?”

5.你经常说打扰了，和谢谢。

在说了叨扰下和谢谢之后，一些人会觉得你是在故意耍酷或者疏远他们。这真是真事儿，当我和亲戚呆在一起的时候就会这么做。我已经习惯了再麻烦别人的时候说“叨扰了”，或者在别人递给我东西的时候说谢谢。他们会特别新奇的看着我，问我“你为什么和我说这些？我们还是好朋友吧？！”

5.Expats friends and VPN 

It’s pretty easy for Hai gui to make some new Expats friends from all over the world. It is fun to talk about the common experience of trying to integrate  into a culture and share emotional problem with each other ,i think that is a reason why making friends with expats is easier if you are a sea turtle .Another thing Hai gui would like to talk about is what kind of the VPN you are using and what’s happened on Youtube or Facebook .

6.对海龟来讲，很简单就能交个新外国朋友，不管他们来自于哪里。谈论我们共同的，试图融入另一种文化的经历是很有意思的。我认为这就是海龟更容易和外国人交朋友的原因之一吧。另一个海龟们比较中意的事情就是谈论翻墙软件，在youtube或者脸书上都发生了什么有趣的事情。

6.Showing more love to your kind .

After the initial reverse culture shock passes ,you become more culturally adaptable .I have come back here and have been living here for a while.I find myself more understanding of why people behave the way they do ,and also more tolerant if not appreciative of the small differences.

经历过反文化冲击过后，你的文化情商变得更高，适应力更强了。从我回来到现在在这儿住了有段时间了。我发现我更能够理解当地人的行为举止。对文化的差异更宽容，或者说更懂得欣赏这些小不同。
